Who we are:

Founder, Sami Dean, developed a deep appreciation for gardening through a decade of designing, enhancing, and maintaining countless landscapes throughout central Virginia. Goldfinch Gardening was created in response to conventional landscape practices that have too long been the status quo.

At our core, we’re grounded in the understanding that landscapes are inextricably connected living systems and we’re driven by the desire to help people experience their vital role.

While upholding a respect for the signature styles that have shaped our local gardens, we prioritize the incorporation of native plants, sustainable techniques, and contemporary design into each project. We seek to help make meaningful progress in ecological land care feel accessible, joyful, and rooted in curiosity rather than purity.
